Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 KJVS
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone ? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Let’s look at the blind man in Matthew Chapter 20
Matthew 20:29-30 KJVS
“And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him. And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.”
There are two blind men spoken about here in this 20th Chapter of Matthew .
In Luke Chapter 18 there is only one blind man that is spoken about? How is this so? Is this the same blind man in Matthew Chapter 20 , and how are there two?
Luke 18:35 KJVS
“And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:”
In Matthew Chapter 20 verses 29, Christ and His disciples departed Jericho, but in Luke Chapter 18 They we’re approaching Jericho.
I believe Matthew Chapter 20 , and Luke Chapter 18 is talking about the same blind man. Jesus Christ and His Disciples were leaving ancient Jericho and approaching new Jericho, or vice versa.
Why do two blind men make up one?
Romans 11:7-10 KJVS
What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them: Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.”
A SPIRITUAL slumber
Matthew 13:10-16 KJVS
And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.”
Many can physically see, but are blind spiritually, hear but are deaf spiritually.
We have two bodies.
The Blind man was physically blind , and he was spiritually blind .
And we see what Christ will and can do , when its time to receive it.
Matthew 20:31-34 KJVS
And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David. And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you? They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. So Jesus had compassion on them , and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.”
Their eyes opened, and they which is the blind man followed Christ.
Two are better than one .
I believe the more you follow our Lord through His word the closer you get to Him , and your spiritual eyes open more. Jesus Christ is the Tree of Life, and He is the Word of God. ( John Chapter 1 verses 1 through 14.)
Unlike Adam and Eve unfortunately in the book of Genesis Chapter chapter 3 .
Genesis 3:1-7 KJVS
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.”
There flesh eyes were opened , and they knew they were naked physically and perhaps that left them spiritually naked also. When they Touched, and Ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil , which is Satan their spiritual eyes closed (made them unwise,) their innocence was lost.
The more we stay away from the Tree of Life ( Word of God which is Jesus Christ) our spiritual eyes can close, and our fleshly understanding which is carnal can take over ( Romans Chapter 8 verses 8 through 15.)
“James 3:15-18 KJVS
“This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is , there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.”
It is good to see with your eyes , and it is better to see with your spirit, on Gods time not ours .
Two are better than one, but Woe unto him when he is alone when he falleth.
( 1st Corinthians Chapter 15 verses 38 through 44.)
